Ignoring the Signs (Original 17.5" X 21.5")
Framed Original 17.5" X 21.5" (Acrylic paint on a repurposed thrift shop painting)
This piece takes a long hard look at the things we tend to look over in the world today. The fall of the world as we know it may very well be in our fault unless we take responsibility for our actions and make new choices to better the world soon. Everyone seems so distracted all the time, and I think its more important than ever for us all to become conscience of the problems at hand. Together we might actually be able to save our beautiful planet, but it’s certain that we are on a short path to total destruction if we don’t turn back soon. We need to learn to come together for the sake of our future instead of finding ways to keep us all divided.
I touched on topics such as the burning of fossil fuels leading to dramatic increases of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, the burning and destruction of our rainforests for the development of agriculture, pollution caused by our industries, the unfortunate influence that technology and social media is having on us all especially the youth, and the overall impact of human behavior on our environment and the entire animal kingdom. I hope this piece will help bring awareness and lead to more action to better the world.
