A painting to represent modern day politics…
For this piece I've mainly reflected on my own experiences with politics here in the U.S. The more research I did on this subject, the more this painting became about fake news and the era of misinformation.
Politicians and large corporations constantly use fake news to sway the public's opinions in their favor through the use of fear mongering and other psychological tactics. Unfortunately, this has led to a loss of trust between the public and the hierarchy. I believe most political issues are simply a side effect of the trust issues we've developed because of all of this. Our system has become less "for the people" and more "for the profits", and until we reestablish a new order, trust cannot be restored. I hope this painting marks the beginning of a new political chapter.
